Legislative Affairs

Legislative Consultant Michelle Gentry-Wiseman has worked with the Society for a number of years. She is responsible for identifying legislative proposals that potentially impact radiologists and the practice of radiology.

With her assistance, IRS was successful in getting administrative rules in place that created the licensure category of Radiology Assistants. She also ensured that in a recent renewal of the Radiation Protection Act the bill that passed was in a form IRS wanted to see passed.

Michele shepherds proposals through the legislative and administrative process on our behalf. With more than 3,000 bills introduced in Springfield each year, she is our eyes, ears, and voice in the governmental process.

Every week a new legislative update will be posted on the web site informing members about pending legislative and the association’s efforts on its behalf, as well as regular news about current legislative issues.
