About IRS: Welcome
Membership records are maintained by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Therefore, it is crucial that you communicate with the Membership Department of the American College of Radiology (ACR) whenever you change jobs, addresses, zip codes, phone or fax numbers or email addresses. Please check your address information in the membership director section of the ACR web site and if it is not correct, e-mail the IRS office at info@illradsoc.org to provide corrected information. The IRS is comprised of two divisions, the Chicago Radiological Society and the Central Illinois Radiological Society (CIRS). About 1/3 of the members are from the CIRS with 2/3 from the CRS. The three primary officers of the IRS must at all times include two members from the Chicago division and one member from the Central Illinois division. I have the privilege of serving as the president this year from the Chicago Division. The IRS Executive Committee includes not only the officers of the IRS, but also the three officers of the CRS, the three officers of the CIRS and the Councilors and Alternate Councilors to the American College of Radiology. The Councilor representation to the ACR annual meeting is also split between the Chicago and Central Illinois divisions based on the percentage each division membership contributes to the total. The IRS Executive Committee meets three times a year, once in the Fall during the RSNA, once at the Joint IRS/CRS/CIRS Educational Symposium and Annual Meeting, currently scheduled for March 20, 2010 in Chicago and once at the American College of Radiology Meeting in Washington in May. Watch this web site for update information on these meetings. We urge all IRS members to attend the IRS Annual Meeting. We encourage and look forward to your active involvement with the Illinois Radiological Society. If you have any questions, or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely,
