Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this educational activity the participant should be able to:

  • Describe the role of radiology in the emergency room.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of current radiology practice management issues including the diagnostic, economic and political importance of imaging modalities.

  • Apply appropriate reading skills for new applications of CT and PET imaging.

  • Understand and identify health care fraud and common causes of malpractice litigation in various radiologic fields.

  • Identify strategies to improve communication that prevent radiographic errors.

  • Describe the current and future role of the radiologist in the treatment of vascular disease using interventional and endovascular techniques.

  • Evaluate and manage follow-up care of radiation oncology patients.

  • Practice appropriate coding and reimbursement procedures.
